Ballard Street Poetry Journal

Letter from the Editor

Welcome to the summer 2008 issue of Ballard Street Poetry Journal. I am excited to say that we are now entering our third year in publication! Many thanks to our subscribers and donors that keep us print. We hope you’ll continue with your support, help spread the word about BSPJ, and especially the many fresh new voices we enjoy featuring. Also, thank you for your patience as this issue comes out a bit late this summer as some of our staff is off on vacations and some experiencing parenthood for the first time.

This issue includes many talented poets including Samuel Biagetti and Ann Walters, who both appeared in our last issue, as well as M.J. Iuppa, Kristina England, Emily E. Schulten, Glenn D’Alessio, Howie Good, and many others. Amongst these poets and all the rest, you will find an eclectic mix of emotion, happenstance and humor. We hope you enjoy this collection as much as we enjoyed reading their submissions.

Finally, don’t forget to check our website for updates on workshops and events, as well as any changes in our submission policies. I will also post our Pushcart Prize nominees on our website in early November 2008. In the meantime, enjoy these remaining days of summer and keep reading BSPJ and other independent literary journals.
