Letter from the Editor

Welcome to the 2012 issue of Ballard Street Poetry Journal. The poets in these pages bear witness – bringing us to the side of the road, to the edge of the wishing well, to the death house – and make us look. We are bound by silences and screams - by flattened coke cans, loose threads, and useless china – by the things we can't help but see and those we would rather not. I hope you will make time to explore these poems, stick your fingers in, let the pips of these ideas stain your lips, grind the seeds between your molars.
